The essay is a student’s opportunity to tell us who they are, perhaps not just being a person but also as a pupil. The absolute most effective essays would be the most authentic essays. We are undoubtedly to know who our candidates are. The most readily useful advice I can give to students is to ‚be yourself’.
They are called answers that are short buuuut they shouldn’t be too short of an answer. The short answers are taken very really in our review process. They provide us valuable understanding in to students’s academic interest also as their commitments outside of the class room.
We’re in search of students who will be active members associated with the USC community. I always suggest that students list any commitments they have outside of this classroom. This consists of old-fashioned clubs, activities, volunteer organizations, work experience etc. But it addittionally includes, non-traditional activities such as looking after siblings or other family users, productive hobbies like photography, marathon training or everest that is climbing.
Letter of suggestion
Pupils often feel they approach to write a letter of recommendation on their behalf like they do not have control over their letter of recommendations; yet, students do have control over whom. We require that at least one suggestion come from a person who can touch upon the student’s academic character and possible (in other words. Teacher or counselor).

Visiting Campus over the Holiday Break? No problem!
I invested part of my Monday morning at USC’s bookstore while our file review system was temporarily down. In the midst of locating the precise size and item that I became looking to buy as a Christmas time gift for a family member, I took a moment to pause and appear around—the bookstore was incredibly busy! I wondered the thing that was going on and realized that not only are finals winding down this week, but pupils are getting ready to go back home for the vacation break and were also doing some last-minute gift shopping. The bookstore might have been super crowded earlier in the day this week, but by this weekend, our campus will likely be mostly empty as the University closes for vacation break from December 22 January 1.
Also though the admission office will never be staffed over the break, prospective students and families are welcome to check out campus and take their own self-guided tour! We know that many visitors want to tour USC on weekends and in other cases of year as soon as we usually do not offer formal tours, thus we now have created the USC that is official self-Guided pamphlet for all your university see requirements! This resource follows the path that is same USC Tour Guides take on their tours plus it features a map and pictures of significant structures and locations on campus as helpful information. On the way, you’ll begin to see the Campus Center that houses student offices and dining choices, educational buildings, and libraries such as Doheny Memorial Library, the research library that is oldest on campus. Just like every trip led by our current students, the self-guided tour ends at the infamous statue of Tommy Trojan. Throughout the year, you are able to often see students, alumni, along with other guests taking pictures in front of Tommy, so don’t be shy to take one yourself!
Just What tour would be complete without providing information about the certain areas around campus and things to do in Los Angeles? In the page that is final of brochure, various local museums, restaurants, sports venues, and shopping areas are highlighted in case campus site visitors want to explore areas off campus, as well.
Whether the truth is USC on your own or led with a tour guide, you might be sure to get a feeling of what our stunning campus as well as the city of LA have to offer. Benefit from the holiday break!
